Dillon Brooks faced the 16th technical foul of the 2025 season. Read this article to know how it will impact his total play of the 2024-25 NBA season.

Dillon Brooks has been unstoppable in the 2025 NBA season. He played a key role in his Houston Rockets redemption this season to make it to the playoffs. His most notable achievement this season was on 27 January when he achieved a career-high and Houston Rockets franchise-record by making ten three-pointers, contributing to a total of 36 points in a 114-112 win against the Boston Celtics.
His average this season is 13.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 0.8 steals per game while also maintaining a shooting percentage of 39.5% beyond the arc. However, he did get into trouble for multiple technical fouls, which will affect his total pay this season.
According to ESPN’s salary cap, Dillon Brooks’s base salary is $22,255,493 for the 2024-2025 season. His contract is a part of four years totaling up to $80 million in a deal signed with the Houston Rockets in 2023. The 2025 season marks his second year with the franchise, leaving him with $22.3 million this season.
On top of that, he triggered a $1 million bonus when the Houston Rockets clinched a playoff spot by defeating the Utah Jazz on 3 April 2025. However, he received his 16th technical foul of the season during the same game, which led to a one-game suspension. As a result, he will miss the next game against Oklahona City Thunder and lose some pay from the bonus. After accounting for the missed game due to suspension, Dillon Brooks will earn $872,000 from the $1 million playoff bonus on top of this base salary of 22,255,493.
All About Dillon Brooks’s Suspension

Dillon Brooks received his 16th technical foul of the 2024-2025 season during a game against Utah Jazz on 3 April. Previously, he sustained his 14th and 15th fouls in a game against the Phoenix Suns last week. As a result, he got a one-game suspension for reaching the NBA’s limit of 16 technical fouls in one season. He will miss the Houston Rockets’ home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday.
As it turns out, not everyone is happy with this decision, and ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith came out in his favor, arguing that “He did nothing that warranted an ejection from this game. We all love the league, and we all support the league, but this is the kind of stuff that hurts the league right here.”
“Dillon Brooks had no business (being) ejected. You can’t be talking about the love of the game and how much we should love and support the game, and you go rob the fans of a game. It doesn’t matter that he’s not LeBron (James) or Steph Curry. He can play, and he is a contributor to that team.” he added
