Following a dramatic Game 1 against the New York Knicks where the Celtics wasted a 20-point lead, Perkins said, “He’s the biggest key to the Celtics’ success. He provides that balance. When they are shooting 25% from the three-point line, he gives them an option when you talk about being able to post-up and search out mismatches.”

Kristaps Porzingis made a significant impact on the Celtics’ success in the 2024-25 season. As the team’s centre, he averaged a total of 19.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game in the regular season. His standout performances include a season-high 34 points and rebounds against Chicago.

However, his campaign has been affected by a series of injuries and illnesses. He missed eight games earlier in the season due to a respiratory illness, while his chronic calf and ankle injuries affected the rest of the matches as well.

Regardless, the Boston Celtics are currently in a challenging position in the NBA Playoffs. However, they remain as one of the top teams for the title.
