LeBron James Set To Make NBA History With Record 23rd Season

LeBron James is all set to make yet another historic contribution to the history of basketball, as he signs up another contract with the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2025-26 NBA season. This deal makes him the first player in league history to begin a 23rd season, which also sets him up to break further records in the coming year.

Rich Paul Confirms LeBron James Return

At 40 years old, LeBron James is set to return for another season of outstanding performance, following the Lakers’ remarkable 2025 season.

Rich Paul, LeBron James, said, “He knows the Lakers are building for the future. He understands that, but he values a realistic chance of winning it all. We understand the difficulty in winning now while preparing for the future. We do want to evaluate what’s best for LeBron at this stage in his life and career. He wants to make every season he has left count, and the Lakers understand that, are supportive and want what’s best for him.”

LeBron James’ Long List Of Records

Throughout his career, LeBron James has accumulated a long list of records. He is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer with over 42,000 points, having surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record in 2023. He also holds the record for 21 All-NBA selections out of 22 seasons, a record unmatched by anyone.

LeBron James is also a four-time NBA champion and a four-time Finals MVP, with titles in Miami, Cleveland, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

He currently shares the NBA record with eight-time All-Star Vince Carter and is just 50 appearances short of breaking Boston Celtics star Robert Parish’s record.
