According to a report by Shams Charania, Joe Vardon, and Jason Lloyd of The Athletic, Darius Garland’s agent, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, will engage in discussions with the team’s front office regarding a potential trade if Donovan Mitchell commits to a long-term contract extension in Cleveland.

Rival executives believe that the Cavaliers will need to carefully evaluate the compatibility of Mitchell and Garland, potentially leading them to choose one over the other. Mitchell has just one more season under contract, with a player option for the 2025-26 campaign, adding uncertainty to the team’s future.
